For quite some time now, FReepers on both sides of this pit bull issue have been arguing, attacking, & harassing the "other side". What has this accomplished? Unfortunately very little except anger & strife amongst fellow republicans on this message board.
I think it has gotten to the point now where both sides should pretty much be able to concur that this is pointless, as it is unlikely that either side is going to change their mind.
We are all FReepers, and there is no use in turning against each other on any issue. We need to stay united to fight against political policies & laws that democrats are trying to implement.
Can we all agree from this point on, that not only do both sides have a right to post articles about pit bulls, either positive or negative, but that they have a right to discuss their views in their own thread without concern about the "other side" coming in to their thread to harass, attack or annoy them because of their views? (yes, I know that was a run on sentence...LOL!).
Basically, from now on, if you don't agree with the subject of the pit bull thread, either positive or negative, please, please don't go in it. Just let that "side" discuss it amongst themselves. If someone from "the other side" does come in to your thread & try to create trouble, just hit the "report abuse" button, then ignore them. Hopefully then they will get the message. This issue is not worth fighting amongst each other about.
I know that when these disagreements started in each others threads, I said some things that I regret, because that is not the type of person I am, or want to be. For that, I apologize.
So what do you say? Can both sides agree right now that we each have a right to disagree, and finally call a truce?
Thanks!!
A chihuahua can kill a Great Dane. I’ve heard they can get stuck in the Dane’s throat...
You are correct, though. Chihuahuas have the ugliest disposition of any breed I know.
You are right. I have read your comment several times, it is stupid, and does not make any sense.
Others understood my comment and found it humorous. I wonder what your porblem is. Hmmm.
I was trying to figure out a connection to the Civil War.
What a pu55y thread this is.
I have been told, repeatedly, that threads like this are rare.
WTFIIWPB?
As my kids would say, I'm so like whatever.
That’s about it! Wouldn’t miss one of them for the world.
That deserves a heck yea!! As a Vet Tech, Chihuahuas and Doxies are the worst small breeds to deal with. As I have said before, the worst bite I ever got was from a Schnauzer (not his fault, I had a bad hold, and his spine was being manipulated). The worst large dog breed we have problems with in our practice are Huskies. Nearly all our Husky patients need to be muzzled. I don’t blame the breed, though. Huskies need a tremendous amount of exercise. They love to work, and I honestly think that that energy goes elsewhere when they don’t get much exercise and are left out in the blazing NC summer heat.
My vet said he’d never seen a mean OEM. Have you?
Discussing peanut butter on a dog thread? That’s SICK!
LOL!

Yes. Has there really been any doubt about that?
that they have a right to discuss their views in their own thread without concern about the "other side" coming in to their thread to harass, attack or annoy them because of their views
No. Debate is good.
My beef lately has been with deluge posting by the "anti-pitbull" side.
It makes debate very difficult if not impossible.
It takes much less time to do a google search and post an article
than it does to research and produce a well thought out response to the article.
In a sense deluge posting is a way to shut up your opponent.
If someone intends to harass, attack or annoy, more power to them
but they shouldn't be surprised to receive a reply in kind.
There is a fair amount of leeway allowed in our responses to one another.
If it gets too out of hand that's what the mods are for,
but it is wise not awaken them too often. :)
This thread has an interesting premise, and I can understand the “let’s all be friends and not fight so much.” But I do have a REAL beef with somebody who posts so many articles on his favorite hate that you can’t refresh the page without seeing 2-3 articles about killer pit bulls.
Honest to God, I never thought of getting one before, until now. I make it a point to compliment the pit owners I see around town, now, too.
A moose bit my sister’s pitbull once. It was series.
Well said, kanawa. :)
We have a client who had the most beautiful litter from their blues. It was the first time I had ever considered getting a pit. I have nothing against them, I just am a Boxer mom to the core, but these dogs were so gorgeous, I considered it.

During the next moose hunt I will kill a hugh bull in your sister’s pitbull’s honor. ;)
