Need name of Ragnar Danneskjöld's pirate ship

Posted on 04/18/2009 11:02:47 AM PDT by Atomic Vomit

I've searched and searched- no luck.

Did "atlas Shrugged" author Ayn Rand ever actually refer to Ragnar's ship by it's name?

Thanks in advance-AV

Thanks for your effort.

I'm already on that ping list- Publius is doing the Lord's work.

I have still had no results in my search for Ragnar's ship name.

I would like to discover this fact because I just bought a 32' Carver and need a name for her.

Anyone else have any info?

I just finished reading “Atlas Shrugged”, and I don’t recall that the ship actually had a name. Ragnar does say, at one point, that after the strike, when the people of ability return to the world, the ship will make a nice luxury cruise ship.

But then again, maybe the ship was called “The Bainbridge”!

The USS Robin Hood...

Would be fitting, because Rand describes Ragnar as, “The Robin Hood who robs the humanitarians and gives to the rich.”

The ship is actually never named, in Atlas or any of Rand’s notes or other books, though Ragnar had a number of names, including Hjalmar, Ivar, and Kay, before she settled on Ragnar, according to her notes.

Thanks Publius.

BTW, the wife and I are enjoying your book club work greatly.

Well, since the ship had no name then that idea is out.

So here is my name choice:

"GONE GALT"
