Zoe Lofgren Townhall Meeting

I just returned from Zoe Lofgren’s Townhall meeting. (Calif Dist. 16) It was held in the Almaden Community Center generally an upper middle class neighborhood. I have to give her guts for showing up.
Initially they only allowed 200 people in the room and locked the doors on about 150 people left out in the hall. The San Jose police were in a bit of a quandry as to what to do but eventually just as the meeting started they let us in for SRO in the back.
The crowd was 95% anti big government healthcare. (I think the other 5% were afraid to talk) The audience knew the bill better than Ms. Lofgren and became vocal everytime she tried to mask what was in the bill. All of the right questions were asked with her being accused of being a lier or imcompetent as the crowd followup. Best question of the night award goes to a young lady who asked how in the world Ms. Lofgren expected the Feds to run health care when Tenn., Mass., and Hawaii have all failed. Got a standing ovation. The 2 hour meeting lasted about 45 minutes when a lady finally walked to the front of the room and slammed the whole bill down on the table for Zoe to look at as she did not seem to be aware of what was in it. Ending the meeting here was OK as everything that needed to be said was said.
She was escorted out the back of the hall by SJPD to chants of VOTE NO! by the 450 people there.

For all Freepers that live in Pa., there will be a large Tea Party on August 29th at 10am. I have posted the website address so you can get more information. I personally and my father will be both going. We added it here so that we can gather as much support as possible. Lets get as many people as we can to show up and show our support. From what I have heard and seen on the website Bob Basso will be there as one of there as a guest speaker. Hope to see you there

Babs Boxer showed up today at a Barnes & Noble book store in San Jose, CA. Many citizens showed up at the book store to express their opinions to Babs. These activities all took place out side the store. As far as I know, there was no disruptions inside the store.

Knowing that we have the majority on our side, MoveOn.org and their allies in ACORN and OFA have adopted a NEW TACTIC : show up extra-early and invite the news cameras to show up early. They hope to generate news footage of lots of Administration supporters and only a few (if any) Administration opponents speaking out against the health care ‘reform’ bill.
They rolled this tactic out on Monday with some success. If we don’t step it up, they may have even more success this time.
I say we step it up.
The MoveOn.org folks are likely to be there in significant numbers by 5:00 pm, likely with friendly news cameras standing by to document the ‘growing public support’ for the Administration’s health care plan. If you want to counter MoveOn.org while the news cameras are rolling, you should be there by 5:00 pm yourself.

It will U.S. Sen. John McCain’s turn next week to face raucous crowds at health care town halls.
The Arizona Republican will host town hall meetings Aug. 25 in Sun City and Aug. 26 in Phoenix. They will be focused on health care and reforms pushed by President Barack Obama and Democrats in Congress. That includes the possibility of a government-run system to cover the uninsured and operate alongside private for-profit insurance companies.
The contentious health care issue has prompted ornery crowds to boo and criticize Democratic lawmakers at similar town halls in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Florida.
Protesters on the political left and right were out in force on Monday during Obama’s speech at the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in downtown Phoenix.
McCain’s Sun City town hall starts at 11 a.m. at Grace Bible Church. The Phoenix event is being held at North Phoenix Baptist Church and starts at 5:30 p.m.

“I have a contact who claims to have seen unofficial communications from ACORN, SEIU, and MoveOn.Org members not to just protest for the government option, but it infiltrate the anti-government protesters and attempt to stir up trouble. Precisely what kind of trouble was not specified, and was no doubt communicated verbally. Keep your eyes open folks, and don’t allow yourselves to be provoked. Also, keep an eye on the more excitable and antagonistic folks protesting Obamacare. If they’re acting provocatively in front of news crews or private video cameras, they may not be on your side at all.”
So far I haven’t seen any sign of this, and it may be just talk, but stay tuned. And stay calm even if provoked, which is always good advice.
