Who is Andrew Klaven? He nails it very effectively and succinctly

It’s spelled “Klavan” and he’s a well known writer. Many of his novels have become movies. Googled him! Haven’t read his books, but I will now.

This was shown very well when Blarney Frank assailed that student for asking a very appropriate and long overdue question of that degenerate SOB.

Fantastic and exactly to the point, the same tactic used by Cicero. Insult, belittle and distort your opponents views in order to sway the listener from taking with any creditability the words of your adversary. With a willing propagandist media the job is all too easy.

Liberals cannot win debate where facts are the basis of discussion. “Shutup” is their only alternative. They are a disingenuous bunch of control freaks!

The sadly humorous irony is that, in the long run, they are self-destructive. They cannot care for themselves or their own. They need good hard working conservatives to hold the structure of society and culture together even as they try to unravel it all. They embrace Darwinism even as they fail its most basic tenets of survival.

Hold on a second. Net Neutrality has nothing to do with right or left, liberal or conservative, and it DEFINITELY will not shut conservatives up. The entire point of net neutrality is that it won't shut ANYBODY up.

Net Neutrality prevents Internet providers from blocking, speeding up or slowing down Web content based on its source, ownership or destination. So, among other things, net neutrality means that web companies can't, say, charge you more to access freerepublic.com than to access google.

For those of us who cherish being able to express ourselves on the internet, Net Neutrality is absolutely vital. It's as critical to us as it is to anyone else in this country wanting to exercise their freedom of speech.

Don't we very often do the same thing, though? Coulter, Rush, Hannity, they belittle their opponents and distort their views, too. And O'Reilly, of course, is the King of Shut Up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrNl6-j9x5w

Both sides are guilty of this, and it's just as wrong when we do it as when they do. (Both sides also have people who strongly believe in their views but also are eager to hear the views of others, and defend their rights to espouse them.)

It is time to fight Alinsky with Alinsky. Be merciless and relentless in lampooning the leftists, even if it costs you some “friends.”

Laugh and mock.... you betcha. But they don't distort. Rush in particular goes out of his way to present their idiotic views. He records their very words and plays them back on air in context.

The left always distorts, lies and runs from real debate.

Neither side always does anything. There are as many on the left willing to debate as there are on the right. They may not be right, :) but they're there. And I'm sure lefties would say that conservatives distort their views all the time, and they truly believe that:

http://www.google.com/search?q=rush+limbaugh+distorts

Whether or not you think those accusations of distortion are accurate, both sides think that they understand what the other side believes but that the other side is misinterpreting them. Writing off the other side as the enemy is easier than trying to have a discussion, and I think we're as guilty of that sometimes as they are.

I would agree in the case of O’Reilly and perhaps Hannity as I don't watch or listen to him. I would disagree with your premise on Limbaugh or Coulter as they in my experience simply point out the truth with varying degrees of diplomacy. Insisting on taking the high road in every instance will only bring you thin air, and little else to win the day, in fact it was certainly one of W's greatest shortcomings.

Shut up!!! Is on the march.

Speech Codes, PC and other Orwellian Terms, nothing but an easy wrapper to put on “SHUT UP”
