Pretty cool, but it seems to go through a lot of work to power it with solar panels.

Why not power it with a small nuclear reaction? More power, easier to implement, I would think...

You’re correct of course however to power by nuclear, a rocket would be required to take it up there.

Some satellites have been nuc powered in the past and when they were sent up in the USA, lots of protests from groups opposed to nuc’s, concern about aborted launches, etc, etc.

The space station is a politically correct vehicle which is why it took so long to build it.
