My Choc loves to sit on your feet or lean on your side, but she's never done a trifecta. I think she likes to concentrate on one person at a time.

I don't think it's a dominance thing; she is extremely soft and not dominant at all with people. But she is a world champion schmoozer. The very first night she boarded with our trainer, she was supposed to be outside in the kennel in the dog yard, but she managed to work her way into the garage, into the house, into the kitchen for supper, into the TV room after supper, and then pranced into the bedroom and lay down on the floor beside her trainer's bed. She is an exemplary house dog!

With dogs, she has her limits, because she's 9 years old now and a little cranky. She'll put up with almost anything from a puppy, but if an adolescent or older dog puts a paw on her back she will whirl around and snarl a warning. She's never bitten another dog though, other than Ruby, and Ruby had it coming (and I think that was a miscalculation, she caught Ruby's very pendulous upper lip with one tooth).

They do make the Chocolates extra sweet.

My dad had a rescued dog named Rosie the Riveter, angel dog with a gargoyle head; that actually bit his hand in the act of feeding her. Talk about one of the cardinal sins of dog-dom! Don't bite the hand that feeds you is axiomatic.

My dad was feeding Rosie, Canyon the golden, and a visiting puppy. My dad was dividing it up when Rosie growled at the puppy to not sniff near HER bowl. He let them eat and then went to add a bit stuck to the side of the can to Rosie's bowl. Rosie saw the hand coming in and, no doubt thought, “Puppy! I warned you by growling once, now you get bit!”

It was a bite commensurate with an old bitch scolding a pup, didn't even hurt my dads hand; but he was shocked! Rosie was even MORE shocked, she looked rather sheepish and carefully disengaged jaws from around master's hand.
