I had the same virus, last month. It came up as a ‘windows’ link - saying I was under ‘so many’ threats (I think it said 13), and ‘click here to remove threats, and protect my computer. Since it was displayed as from “windows” - I trusted it, and clicked ‘remove threats’ and from then on, I got a pop up every two or three minutes, and couldn’t close it out. (I reaized it was a ‘virus’ when it asked me for my email address, and told me I could use ‘pay pal’ or credit card to pay for the removal of the infected spots.

It was a mess.

Mine said I had 32 threats and I made the same mistake and clicked on remove threats thinking it was our virus protection doing it's job.
