I thought you were joking about the one son voting for Obama. Well, anyway, one of my relatives voted for him too, and I still love him. We just refrain from political and religious talk, lol (most of the time).

Ack. Not at the “marrying or serious bf stage yet” (with my kids) but I get what you’re saying.

Here’s a bright note for you: when I met my husband in college, he was probably a liberal in most areas (he didn’t vote for Reagan for heavens sakes!). But he was a good guy and now he’s more conservative than I am in some ways. I think I influenced him in some areas and he influenced me in some areas.

Sadly no joke. My son’s fiancee is going to teach 3 or 4th grade. They are high school sweethearts . I already warned him if she treats us like her students there will be a huge family revolt. I do admit to teasing her quite a bit about her politics & have warned her that mother in laws can be btchy if they think their sons are whipped. I was dead serious about that & I hope she heard me. I am not ready for that son to leave anytime soon I guess.
