Here's her story---from our local paper---
Lauren, the 14-year-old girl who was critically injured in an ATV accident on March 21 remains under treatment at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.
Lauren has a long road ahead, but she is now on the road to recovery.
Lauren was first transported to Memorial Hospital and later transported by the Texas Children's Hospitals Kangaroo Crew.
The Kangaroo Crew is a pediatric intensive care air transport service that transports patients who are in des-perate need of specialized health care to Texas Children's Hospital.
Lauren suffered from a severe skull fracture and has been making gradual improvement each day. It is expected that she will soon be transferred to a hospital that can provide her with physical therapy services.
Lauren, who is an exceptional student, has made the A Honor Roll every six weeks of her life. When she missed school on March 23 due the accident, it was in fact the first day of school she had ever missed.
She is a member of the Jr. High Honor Society and participates in several sports. She has been selected as student of the week and is a Jr. High Cheerleader. She is a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and is an active member of the youth group.
My heartfelt prayers for Lauren's complete recovery.
May the Lord be with Lauren as she recovers from this terrible accident.
