A Garden For Others
If wishes were wonders, we'd fill up this land,
With birdsong and flowers, as if we had planned,
A garden for others, as much for ourselves,
All tended in silence by scurrying elves.
If wonders were wishes, we'd be up to here,
With marvelous things that should fill us with cheer,
As if in a garden that someone had made,
While we sat around and looked on from the shade.
Somehow you may notice, whatever the case,
We didn't have much of ourselves in this place,
Because when we garden, we start with a fence,
And everything grown in it's our recompense,
For hoeing, and sweating, and kicking out bugs,
And all those large items that someone else lugs.
We tend not to share what we work to achieve,
So who would a garden of flowers conceive?
It must be a someone who feels what we feel,
Whose fancy is tickled by what we think's real,
Who puts out these wonders like toys for our eyes,
Who looks on in laughter from up in our skies.

Great picture, so true to the image of time escaping us.
You certainly have the gift of matching image to poem, several here are just awesome at that.
