Catch Me Dreaming
If Death should catch me dreaming,
Then let him rest a while,
Until my dream has run its course,
And brings me one more smile.
That I may die in smiling,
My thanks for all the days,
Ive seen your face in golden light,
Your dancing in its rays.
If Death should catch me dreaming,
Then let him still his blade,
While I complete the joyfulness,
My life with you has made.
And let him watch my dreaming,
Partaking of its joy,
Until he reaches fullness in,
The table I employ.
If Death should catch me dreaming,
Let him sit down with me,
To pack some flesh around his bones,
Of dreams Ill let him see.
