That is the same bird, Jaycee.
From
A Photo Gallery.
The Hoopoe is 2529cm long, with a 4448cm wingspan. This black, white and pink bird is quite unmistakable, especially in its erratic flight, which is like that of a giant butterfly. The crest is erectile, but is mostly kept closed. It walks on the ground like a starling.
The song is a trisyllabic "oop-oop-oop", which gives rise to its English and scientific names.
The nest is in a hole in a tree or wall. Like those of its relatives the kingfishers, the nest tends to contain copious amounts of faeces and smell very foul as a protection against predators. Nesting hoopoes are capable of squirting fecal matter at intruders.

They are such interesting birds. Maybe because we never see them here.

Very interesting. I bookmarked that one! (They sure have some nasty habits...LOL) I have some birds that fly through my carport occasionally and ‘aim’ at my car! Birds love to hit cars, don’t they? LOL~ Especially the windshield!
To: jaycee
LOL
Their aim for the windshield is always a bullseye!!!

Today in MA you could actually watch buds opening and our world awoke with beauty. Our weather created conditions that caused most things to open at once, according to a meteorologist, and today seemed the proof.

Yep - dying her hair! (And that is the “least” of her problems!)
Reminds me of those ‘older’ newscasters - who dye their hair jet black (or use G recian F ormula for Men, and give their hair a ‘green’ tint), and think they look younger. ROTF!!!’

Think I’ll diet in the Fall....then I think I’ll diet after Christmas, after New Years! Maybe, next Spring.
To: jaycee
I have given up any attempt at dieting. I have decided to be “Fluffy” the rest of my life! (wink wink - and big hugs!)

Guess I will diet when there’s no delicious food left. The way our Country is headed, it could be sooner than I think..LOL!

There are things I must do! I have put off too long! My hubby had a nice office right over from the kitchen. Since he passed away, I have ‘piled things’ in there. I just decided I had to do some work in there everyday until it in order for me to work out of....my paperwork, writing checks, etc. I made a deal with myself that I would do an hour or two per day in the office (along with all the other stuff there is to do) and I will eventually finish. And that is not the only thing I’ve put off either.

GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMYS PLACE!
The Soldiers Code
1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.
3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.
4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.
5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.
6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.
