Wow I appreciate the answer. Having grownup watching Jules Bergman describe every Mercury thru Apollo launch televised, I’ve had a fondness for the space program. In the mid 60’s Nasa had a science show that came to my high school in Ashland, Ky, with a full sized Lunar Lander and other great displays. Heck, I tear up watching the Right Stuff.
I wish they could connect with the public like that and build more enthusiam and support. The benefits outweigh the costs.

Gotta be an April fools article.

Why would Car and Driver magazine do that?

If this isnt an April Fools joke it’s sure a personal slap at conservative Americans.

Gotta be an April fools article.

I hope it is. It *could* be, but after Obama firing Wagoner I'm not sure.

I'm trying to find other sources but nothing's coming up yet. There is a poll on C&D's website -- why would they post a poll if it's a joke?

This has to be a gag.

Speaking of April Fool's Day shenanigans, here's one from every lefty's favorite site, the Huffington Post, from last year ...

HOAX! Black guy presidential frontrunner

We're exposing yet another supposedly legitimate news source trying to fool its readers with a hilarious April Fool's Day headline hoax. Internet polling rascal Gallup reported this corker: "Obama Holds Lead Over Clinton, 51% to 43%." Pretty funny, guys. But do you really expect us to believe that a black guy is the Democratic frontrunner for president? As in President of the United States?

Looks like it is indeed an April Fools prank.
Car & Driver has now added “HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY” to the lead text of the story.

The Car of Tomorrow mandate turns them all into motorized Soap Boxes, anyway.

To quote another poster:

“Car and Driver gave NASCAR fans a gift — the experience of knowing what it is like to lose your freedom. These are the stakes that are in play right now.”

Yes, hopefully this will be a slap in the face to the NASCAR fans here in the Northeast who supported Obama.
Sad illustration on the political and economic state of the country that this “hoax” is entirely believable and possible.
