I had a lifelong habit of reading a book literally cover to cover.
I don’t do that with UFO books any more. I know most of the background by heart . . . and almost every book has a chunk of that. And, I know a lot of the typical newer stuff by heart as well. So I just scan for the new parts I haven’t heard of yet. Saves a lot of time.
