I agree. She was NOT getting it. Just because you like a song doesn't mean it is a good song for you to sing. Her problem though is she was arguing that she 'changed' it up, (artistry). Again, if the song is a bad fit, changing it up by starting normal, going gospel, then going back to normal, doesn't mean it fit any better. I hated what she did to that song.
Her “rendition” made my ears hurt! and Simon really doesn’t like it when they talk back to him, she just blew her chances of being saved tomorrow night — unless the people who vote bad idol save her sorry rear.
As Randy would say “Song Choice People, Song Choice!” It boils down to song choice and delivery.
And tonight for me no one hit a home run. Allison was OK. Adam did some amazing vocals and I mean some really good runs but the arrangement for that song not so great for me. You can up tempo it and stuff like that but you've got to keep the chorus in there the way it is written. It it one of those bridge type things in some songs where there is no better way to do it than to stick to the original. Unless you restructure the whole song to work around it.
Exactly, it sucked precisely because Lil did it!
I hear so many contestants say "I love that song" which usually means kiss of death because usually you have to pick SONGS which fit within your style for them to work. I really thought Anoop would have bombed with "Everything I do," but he worked it out great and I don't even like his style and love B. Adams rough rock style. The song fit Anoop because it has an element suited to his style.
