What a great show this week! All great performances! It is so hard to pick a final two, although it really is clear that Adam should be there in my opinion. he has earned the spot based on consistent top notch performances all season.
That said, I think the finale could be any two of the three. My opinion and judges opinions not withstanding, it all comes down to who has the voter base. Tonight might have solidified people’s choices, but I don’t think anyone bombed or anyone stood out enough to say that they will stay or they will go.
As for me, I really do not care who the two finalists are, I truly like all three.
Tonights Ratings:
1. Danny Gokey - You are So Beautiful - I know this is probably polar opposite of most people, but I think this was one of the best performances of the entire season. Beautifully done, and as Simon said, a vocal Master class.
2. Kris Allen - Heartless - Kris took a Kanye West song that I basically throw up every time I hear it, and made it into a song I would buy in a heartbeat. That is a special and rare talent.
3. Adam Lambert - One - An excellent performance, and just enough tweaking to make the song uniquely Adam. The only Judges choice I thought was a good song choice.
4. Adam - Cryin - Vocal range wise this was in a universe of its own, but it went just abit over the top for me and slipped to #4 for the night. I thought it was the best performance from a vocal stand point, but I just did not like the way Adam interpreted the song. Hope that makes sense.
5. Kris - Apologize - I thought Kris did about as good as he possibly could with a weak choice. I was on board with Kara in wishing he had gone acoustic with it, but then seeing his Heartless I realized why he didn’t. Two Acoustic guitar songs would have backfired.
6. Danny - Dance Little Sister - Just like Cryin, I thought that Danny did an excellent vocal job on this, but god what a suckass song choice by Paula. I almost felt sorry for Danny being saddled with this, but he pulled out a good performance with a dog of a song.
Overall I had all three about tied. Would give the night to Adam on a performance basis, Danny on a vocal basis, and Kris on a musicianship Basis.
So, as I said, a crapshoot as to who makes the Finale.
I think the entire show in in the hands of a million teenage girls with speed dialers.

I didn't like it at first (I thought the arrangement was way too slow) but now that I think about it, it was one of the best performances of the night.
