Kris Allen

Immediately following Danny is Kris with his song choice, "Heartless" by Kanye West.

This is an unplugged version. He plays the acoustic guitar.

I wasn't optimistic about this, but it's very good.

Randy: This is gonna be one to the toughest voting nights. I like that better than the Kanye version. You're in it to win it. Love it, baby!

Kara: Why didn't you do that with "Apologize". (shut-up) The tone, the pitch the phrasing--100%.

Paula: This is what keeps you relevent. I commend you. Great job.

Simon: [he repeats his unfavorable feelings about Kris's first song, which sets Kara off again. Simon has to stop to tell her to let him finish--she can't stop talking] (to Kris) I had written you out of this comepetition. That, however, changed after that performance. (audience cheers)

Kara starts squawking about "Aplogize" again, as if anyone cares.

Seacrest: Guys, it's about the contestants tonight.

Simon: (off camera) Thank you!

“Heartless” has totally STUPID lyrics, and the melody is dumb too. Kris did a far better job with it than Kanye, who actually cannot sing at all (he tried to sing live on SNL this season). A risky pick for Kris, but the judges thought he pulled it off.

I don’t see what he liked about it, which makes me doubt Kris’s intelligence, but it really doesn’t matter because the boy can sing.

They all three can.

I think Adam deserves to win, and either of the others is truly good enough for the finale, though I really like Danny personally — his smile is so cute. And I always like the smart ones, like Cookie last season. Adam and Danny both seem bright.
