Conspiracists Push 'Bilderberger' Theory
AOL ^ | March 15, 2009

March 15) - Another conspiracy theory surrounding President Barack Obama is making the rounds, according to Politico.com The latest one contends that many top officials in Obama's administration are involved in a clandestine global cabal bent on creating a one-world government that supersedes the United States. For decades, conspiracy theorists have viewed the Bilderberg group, an international organization made up of political, financial, academic and military heavyweights that comes together annually to discuss world affairs, as similar to the Trilateral Commission or the Council on Foreign Relations -- two groups comprised of influential movers and shakers who, some say, control world events from behind the scenes. And now, some in the Obama administration who have taken part in Bilderberg conferences in the past are gaining attention for their alleged involvement in a secret bid for worldwide domination.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It fascinates, and worries, me that so many seem so intent on having One World Order. It does not surprise me, however, that Obama would be in this group.
I live in a town where the John Birch Society got much of its funding.
This conspiracy stuff is nuts, and the best thing William F. Buckley did was to separate the conservative movement from the John Birch Society.
That so many are involved with this and other groups is what is shocking. This one, Trilateral commission, and CFR. Almost every President for the last 30 years or so. If not a conspiracy then why is Kissenger coming out and stating we are almost there?
I would have thought so too, except that more and more pols and dignitaries are coming right out and exploring the idea of one world government. They are not even trying to hide it anymore.
I was looking for hotels in Washington DC using Google maps, and there was an “unverified listing” for a “Hotel de Bilderberg” at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Someone had fun.
I think our nations sovereignty is being sacrificed on
the altar of the One World, or New World Order.
This article mentions the high falutin’ movers and shakers
that are in these organizations. It's high time we brought together some common man, movers and shakers, and at least slow down this movement.
And Mrs. Grammarian is so concerned that she [?] signed up today to post this -- four months after the election.
Let me be clear:
It is entirely possible to have a group of people, involved in politics, who want to damage and downgrade the sovereignty of the United States.
In fact, I realize that such a group exists: We call them “liberals”.
However, to think that some ancient, secret organization, behind the scenes, has been “calling the shots” for years is, well NUTS!
Just as most of us listen to Rush Limbaugh because we AGREE with him, -— not because we NEED Rush to tell us what we believe -—
Most Liberals are LIBERAL, on their own, and their is no secret “fraternity” handing out marching orders.
I used to feel the same way, thinking this Bircher conspiracy stuff was nuts. But to see how out of control the Federal government is anymore, no matter it seems like who's running the show (admittedly the Messiah is much worse), it really makes one wonder.
That is what surprised me the most- that the article listed people from both sides of the aisle, and many walks of life. I thought that most Republicans would be for national sovereignty, and yet here they are discussing the building of a whole-world government.
I am not sure if I have merely been oblivious, or if this sort of thing shocks the news media so little that it is not often brought up, but this is one of the first times I’ve heard of such an organization.
Welcome Mrs. Grammarian...to your first day on Free Republic.
The conspiracy angle...the Bilderberger story....pretty neat stuff for the National Enquirer. For the rest of us...simply amusing reading at best. Now, if you can tie Madonna, the New York Yankees, and Bill Clinton into this Bilderberger sect....this might be real fascinating.
You’d best take this conspiracy stuff and dump it with the alien abduction stories.
Old man Bush was always nattering on about “the new world order.” I always wondered what he meant. He couldn’t possibly be for “one world government.” He was an American president after all./s
I understand your point. But I think you are slightly blurring the cause-effect relationship.
Yes, we listen to Rush because he is saying what we agree with and then providing additional information. A hundred years from now, others may claim we were a movement that had an effect. Maybe. Maybe not.
But that is separate from like-minded people who all agree on the end-point even if they take different routes to get there. It is irrelevant whether they have a secret agreement to get their by separate routes in order to distract and lose those who may be following them.
It is easy when you start to study conspiracy theories to choose one group and say, “They are The Group [the Marxists, the Elders of Zion, the Illuminati, the Rothschilds] behind all of this change.” It would be foolish to think that any one single group out there is The Group that is causing this.
It is equally foolish to believe that enough like-minded people cannot carry forth an agenda by passing it down from generation to generation.
I do believe there is a concerted effort of Global Conquest by very wealthy, very powerful people. I don't call them Communists, or Socialists, or Capitalists. These are merely the pawns used by the very rich and powerful.
There is one common factor that overrules all of these conflicting groups and that unites those in the forefront of the push toward globalism: extreme wealth. Not Bill Gates’ wealth, and not the wealth of a J.P. Morgan. But of a wealth of a consolidation of massive fortunes and banking interests that use the monetary science to increase their influence/control over political leaders and to keep control of ‘the masses’ by controlling the economies of each nation.
The best analysis I've read that supports what is happening is The Creature from Jekyll Island. None Dare Call it Conspiracy also gives a decent overview of the consortium of like-minded people and their incredibly coincidental involvement in both international banking and national politics.
William F. Buckley was a very intelligent man, and I enjoyed his writing. But he was wrong to marginalize the JBS. Just as the GOP is wrong now to marginalize Rush Limbaugh and the conservative base. It is the exact same strategy that the left and the globalists have been using for a hundred years to divide US patriots so that they could take the reins of power. It is the same strategy that led us to a GOP that looks like yesterday's fringe Democrat Left.
And we are falling for it by pretending that they are not organized and pushing a global agenda.
Don't you see? Rush is part of it . . . he runs a CFR false-flag operation.
