I hate how people think that the Constitution gives us rights. We have to keep reminding people that the Constitution gives no rights, it merely instructs government that it cannot take away our God-given rights.

What the Government givith, the Government can taketh... as opposed to say infringe/deny God-given rights.
It was the adoption of the Bill of Rights that spelled out the rights of the people to protect them from the Powers of the Constitution from being abused.
I always get a kick out of the placement of the 16th amendment to this "Guarantee"
