I understand the function of the amendment, but (1) it is a civil suit, where non-parties really do not care about the outcome, and (2) it seems to me that God was okay without jury trials over civil actions (see: Solomon).

I agree, but unfortunately most men cannot judge as justly as God can. If we could have Christ as our judge and ruler on this earth, we wouldn’t need the Constitution!
