Calling all CT FReepers! (I was going to post this to the local board, but I don't know how many CT FReepers actually read the thing...)
It's taken a while for me to be able to post this, so here goes - we're going to have another dinner/conference similar to the one we had in early 2007.
Location: John Harvard's, Manchester, CT
Date: Wednesday March 25, or Thursday, March 26 (I thought Friday might be better, but it can be mobbed in there on Fridays, and, IIRC, they don't do formal reservations.) Please let me know which day is best for all of you.
Time: 7:00/7:30?
Please let me know if you're coming and if you're bringing a guest(s) so I can get a head count.
Also, should we send out an invite to any local radio people, i.e. Jim Vicevich, Brad Davis, etc and maybe have them come speak? Maybe invite a few of our local Republican representatives?
Let's discuss this and get these details ironed out.

I would like to attend - I am SO furious at all of this socialist stuff being pushed through - along with Obama’s brownshirts being recruited to push his stupid agenda. I’m just sitting here listening to the rerun of Mark Levins’ show tonight where he’s talking about how Obama’s bailouts and proposed budget will bankrupt our country...it’s nightmarish stuff. I am fired up to DO something...so please let me know when and where you’re meeting. I would like to help plan something.

Just skimmed though this thread. I’d like to come...Saturday would not be a good day—I’ll be out of town. During the week would be better—I do have an appt. with my daughter on Wed (I believe) but can try to drop in if that is the date. My only guest would be my 1 yr. old. Keep me posted.

Please be advised, I had to leave my credit card # with John Harvard's to cover any people who don't show up, so, if you're not going to make it, don't just not show up - let me know by Friday so I can let John Harvard's know that there is a change in the total number of guests. Q1: Is there a pre-ordered “set” meal for all attendees or did you just have to give them your card # to reserve a large enough space, and we can each order a-la-carte once we get there?
A1: no, there’s no “set” meal. everyone just orders from the menu. the card # was just to reserve that space - however, if no one shows up or people back out at the last minute, I’ll get charged per person that doesn’t show. Obviously, I don’t want that.
Q2: When’s the deadline to make +/- attendee changes if something comes up?
A2: i’m setting the last date to add people at tomorrow because I don’t want to be nagging John Harvard’s past the end of the day tomorrow. If anyone needs to back out, just let me know by Friday.

Hi bio, I reserved 4 slots (you, plus 3 additional) for you because of your previous comment in post 36 - however, I don’t know how that’s going to play out with the new list you mentioned. I can’t exactly call them and say that I’ve got another 20 people coming because it’s kind of a small restaurant. If you have 3 or 4 more people that might work, but I don’t know about the remainder.
As far as the boards go, if they sit us where they sat us last time, we’d be near the entrance and exit to the kitchen and in the main path of travel to the rest of the restaurant. It’s a good idea, but if we had another means of sharing that information, it might work a little better.
