A Moment
Willows hang over the stillness of the water below
and not a ripple marks the pond below you know
Time, for a moment, frozen into stillness sublime
that captures this instant like a snapshot of time
A soft trill of birdsong lifts in the day so faint
in this moment so pure nothing of it can be taint
Our tired old soul lifts with the song and flies
and only then does the wind so softly decide to sigh
