We don't find many twists in poems and this one's unusual, but that's one reason I like it.
Just ONE of the many reasons why Taylor Hicks' music is so special to me - it's all real, including his voice, which hasn't been pro-tooled to death.
Your yellow and white bouquet and lace frame - nice! :)
I wish Turner Classic Movies would air that one. I would be sure and watch it. I know I would also need plenty of kleenex. I think I will go to YouTube and see if I can find if someone has made a video with Jane Froman singing it.
I wish they would too! They show some a lot older than this one! Maybe we could search their website! It was one of those tear-jerkers like we saw so many of in the “olden days”...LOL! I saw a lot of war movies when I was a young girl. I remember several movies with Van Johnson and June Allyson.....always sad! But sometimes, happy endings, sometimes not! June Allyson’s voice could make one cry! Bet Amy remembers her well, too!
Here I go again....when I was about 10/11, you could order pictures of the stars with their signatures. They were made like postcards. I ordered several! One of these days, when I run across them, I will try to get them to the computer.....I bet they are very valuable! Of course I got June Allyson and Van Johnson, Shirley Temple, Margaret O’Brian, other guys, but can’t remember at the moment. The stars back then were genuine and appreciated ‘we the people’.
Beautiful poem and graphic, Yorkie!

And, I can say right now I MUCH prefer Doris Day's voice!
Shhhhhh. It’s Quiet Time at Amy’s. :)
It's also what I like about tinypic the most - it doesn't give away the picture by the file name!
Thank you, yorkie. I’m really glad you enjoyed it.
Obama?
I think it is Jack Nicholson. (I recognize the belly). LOL!

This is a most beautiful poem, yorkie, and so is the painting.
What a pretty scroll with daffodils and..crocus? and some other flower? :) The table border is a great finishing touch!
