Candle

I took out my little candle,
And cut the flame in half,
A half a flame lasts longer,
But I think I hear you laugh.

"You cannot have a half a flame,
It is, or it is not."
If so, perhaps it may explain,
The half a soul I've got.

I know it isn't fully there,
So much escapes my ken,
Where others saw the Hand of God,
I see it's gone again.

Though I can feel the longing,
A wish to be a part,
The only thing I feel for sure,
Is emptiness of heart.

And so, a half a soul have I,
Perhaps I need a mate,
Who fills in for the other half,
My better half, my fate.

Or somehow, understanding,
That has escaped me hence,
Oh let it flood into this hole,
Dear Lord, let it commence!

Could I go back now to the place,
Where souls are matched to men,
To ask if somehow what I have,
May be traded back again?

No doubt I'd learn I must make do,
With what my lot should be,
Though seeds may vary in their size,
My growth is up to me.

When I watched Glen Beck's show,
I decided that he must have been reading FR for the past few years.

We have known for a long time that we are not alone;
there are many others out there that believe as we do.

Such a sweet message in our Daily Bread, Mr. Mayor! I do know about the cluttered storage room and the cluttered mind. My storage room is what clutters my mind though! LOL!
Those rooms are hard to manage! And we all have them!

Seriously, though, I got the meaning of the message and thank you for it.

Thank you for the beautiful Saturday Opening! That is the prettiest cat. I had a cat similar to that one. When my MIL
passed away, she had a pretty grey cat like that and a dog. Her daughter took the dog and I took the cat. My cat’s name was Susie! We had a new puppy then, our first Sheltie named Dolly and I was so worried about bringing in the cat. Didn’t take long until they were best of friends and playing together.

The thing I didn’t like was my little dog liked to eat the cat’s food and I had a time keeping it from her.
