I have no way to verify nor authenticate this from an e-mail I received from an active-duty Air Force officer friend. If true, it is more than disturbing. I would appreciate any FReeper input or research.
“Conservative News and Reporting “News for the Rest of Us”
Michele Chang.”
“Secretary of Defense Robert Gates is extremely frustrated with orders that the White House is comtemplating. According to sources at the Pentagon, including all branches of the armed forces, the Obama Administration may break with a centuries-old tradition.
A spokesman for General James Cartwright, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, states that the Obama Administration wants to have soldiers and officers pledge a loyalty oath to the office of the President, and no longer to the Constitution.”
Thoughts/research anyone?
I have heard the same rumor.
Bravo Sierra from top to bottom. No such order - I got the same email.
Colonel, USAFR
Using The U.S. Military to Round Up U.S. Citizens and Confiscate Their Private Weapons
If that were true it would mean he believes the military are of higher character than himself, since he believes they would honor an oath.
This came up in another thread. This is what I found:
The only reference I found to this story was a satire piece done at:
http://jumpinginpools.blogspot.com/2009/01/military-to-pledge-oath-to-obama-not.html
Im on edge enough with this loser, but I couldnt believe this.
"I swear by almighty God this sacred oath:
I will render unconditional obedience to the Fuehrer of the German Reich and people, Adolf Hitler, Supreme Commander of the Wehrmacht, and, as a brave soldier, I will be ready at any time to stake my life for this oath."
Now, having said this, there is no way in hell any American officer or NCO is going to take a Nazi oath to Obama. Because of the Hitler Oath, as it was called, any such change to the oath of office to a PERSON, rather than the US Constitution, would be the gravest dishonor any American could commit. It would not happen.
If true (while I tend to doubt it, nothing involving this guy is beyond possibility), reason enough all by itself for impeachment and removal. Failing that, then a far more serious response would be warranted for such a blatant breach of his sworn oath of office.
There you have it. The voice of tyranny. People, we are in some deep doody if this is true.
