Gold for food

No you can't. But people have traded gold for food and other necessities for about 5,000 years....

Oh no doubt! I think some investment in gold is very wise, but be sure to invest in food as well. At least until a system of measure (even underground bartering) is established. As another poster said, you would hate to have to give up a $20 gold piece worth hundreds because you are starving and need some bread.

I can’t afford to buy gold or silver, but I can afford to can my garden food and buy extra can meats here and there and I hope someone else who did buy gold, will be willing to buy from me.
