No one denies it because it's called a contrail!! They've been around for as long as man has flown!!

Since man has flown above a certain altitude, yes.

Hard to see how people can’t know something that basic.

Cool pic! I'd never seen that one before.

And just to point out: a lot of the "contrails" in that pic are condensation formed by cavitation at the tips of the propellers -- no combustion effects required.

Cool pic, but I was always under the impression that the effect was because of the speed of the (tips of the) props (faster than the speed of sound.)
Not condensation, but vortex(?)
