I do believe, however, that the fact that more votes are cast to determine the winner on American Idol than are in a cast to detemione who will be president goes hand in hand with the fact that Bronco Bomber was the best the American electorate could do for President in 2008.

I don't mean to sound elitist here, but I would rather have fewer voters than more. Why? It's a bell curve kind of a thing: the uninformed, the uneducated, and the flight-by-night voter join forces and by sheer number they become the tyrant majority.
And what do we get by this dynamic? The politics of populism in the form of Obama and socialism.
And Democrats understand this dynamic very well too...
