Ann Coulters latest book exposes the growing group of liberal- and media-appointed victims a dangerous trend that threatens American security because it weakens the will to stand up and fight back against enemies abroad and at home.
Marking.
“RT: How has the mainstream media helped to create these fake victims while actually creating real victims out of innocent people?
AC: That would be an excellent subject for a book. Wait a minute, I think I just wrote that book! Let me check my notes by golly, I did! You should pick up a copy word on the street is that it’s a fun read!”
What an ugly answer to a perfectly reasonable question. This person was doing a Q and A, not writing a story.
I’m about a third of the way through it...she is funny and tells it like it is..time after time
Your Primary Colors (title of a book) are showing.
You appear to be “offended” by it. Poor dear.
To me, the person doing the Q and A came across as if he/she had never read the book but had only heard about parts of it.
There are ways to ask questions that allow the author to expand on points in the book. Those questions show that the interviewer has read the book and is looking more deeply than at just what's already in print.
Unfortuntely, what conservatism needs is a champion who can actually attract people to conservatism, to show it off in a good light, so that it can viewed as a viable alternative to other political positions.
Neither Ann nor Rush can be that champion. They both specialize in preaching to the choir. Which is fine and dandy, but it does not (clearly) win elections, as evidenced by the last 2.
“To me, the person doing the Q and A came across as if he/she had never read the book but had only heard about parts of it.”
Having been in the position of the interviewer in the past, I can tell you it’s possible she was thrown into this by a boss without time to read the entire book.
I generally do get offended by people who instead of answering a reasonable question toss off some smarta$$ insult.
“I generally do get offended by people who instead of answering a reasonable question toss off some smarta$$ insult.”
I like to use the “Komodo Dragon” test. Comedy geniuses Bob and Ray did an interview sketch about the large lizard—Ray asked the questions and Bob provided the answers. With every question, it became clear that Ray wasn’t listening to any of Bob’s answers. That happens all to often in real interviews. You can find the skit at YouTube.
What a putrid and liberal chunk of feces to fling at the most beautiful and brainy Conservative woman not holding office.

The results of the last two elections can be laid at the feet of our education system. K-12 is all about fund raising methodology for the children, and instruction of dirtworshiping idolatry of the 'creation' not worship of the Creator.... Liberals present themselves as preservationists of the objects of worship... the result is a never ending methodology of spreading misery. Do these supposed winners of this last election act the least bit happy. NO they are in self destruct mode and there is NO easy was to tell the masses the literal truth.
Now, see, I wasn't offended by it all and didn't take it as “some smarta$$ insult.” Based on the entire interview, it didn't appear to me the interviewer was offended either. Yet, you feel differently. I find your reaction interesting, especially given the subject of the interview.
That's certainly a possibility. If that were the case, though, the interviewer should have made that point clear before the interview even started. If she had done so, I'd expect that the response to the question would have been markedly different.
Why this is unfortunate escapes me.
You say that Ann and Rush are incapable of being spokesmen for conservatism because they preach to the choir. Your logic also escapes me.
Rush, Ann, Hannity, and others are powerful spokespersons for the cause. The fact that the majority of voters elected a communist for president is not a result of their shortcomings.
Freedom from oppression and personal responsibility are of less importance to a majority of our fellow citizens than enslavement to government handouts. While we have been busy freeing tens of millions of people from tyranny in Iraq and Afganistan our political left has been enslaving tens of millions of our own citizens to welfare.
Public education, medicare, social security, public assistance, food stamps, Section 8 housing subsidy, and all of the other government doles with their attendant restrictions on personal freedom and dignity have now created an electorate afraid to wean itself from the public teat. Our government is now poised to solidify their gains with a ruthless takeover of major elements of the private sector.
Those who define freedom as playing the system to score sex, drugs and fast food with impunity are cattle prepared for slaughter. Winning their hearts and minds will require some effort on their part, an unlikely scenario.
The cultural struggle that engulfs us is much worse than you imagine. We have lost the ability to protect this nation from the scourge of socialism and tyranny. We can no longer trust the majority of Americans to stand up for freedom.
What is left is a rear guard action aimed at carving out a space for free people to survive. Rush and friends give us hope that this is possible.
Could you just name a couple for me? It would mean so much. . . .
Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker of Mississippi... not perfect but pretty darned close.
