Have never tried it.
Are there supposed to be advantages?
So far, I have been pleased with my pickles, relish and sauerkraut and never checked the stars...
Maybe if a batch fails, I could blame it on the wrong sign.

Supposedly the kraut is more firm and does not tend to rot , as opposed to ferment, if signs in head /neck.. puts it the 20/21st this month ,, I don't think this cabbage can wait that long..
