I sometimes think more of us need to be more like my Grandmother’s Sister.... She taught elementary school for 53 years - When she was 96 I remember her calling Maryland Governors office and using her teachers moxie, got past all the outer office screeners and when she got the Governor on the phone, she dressed him down till a fly would avoid him. She told him in no uncertain terms that she expected him to straighten up and better fly right... She told him “Marvin, I knew your mother, and she would tan your hide good and proper for what you are doing. Since she isn’t around anymore, I know she would want me to step in for her. Now you call those people up and straighten out this mess you’ve made.” He did.....
Aaah life was simpler then...
For what it is worth, her father was the one who introduced and got womens sufferage passed when he was a State Senator in Maryland.
