One learns to play the cards they are dealt.

That is a magnificent attitude.

And one that will go far in survival times. I hope to do better at following your lead in acceptance of what is.<<<

You will do what is needed and get through it, then you can fall apart later....

Sometimes, one has far more strength/will power, than has been tested.

When I was married before Bill, I was the pit crew/first aid for my husband and all the others, if I was not riding in the race.

LOL, it was always my bike that had a problem, never his.

I ran to so many men on the ground, that it was automatic.

About a year after Bill and I married, we were driving down the highway, behind a large group of Sunday motorcyclists and all of a sudden, one ran off the road and hit a tree.

I yelled at Bill to stop, grabbed my water bottle and wet towel and went running, Bill said later he thought I was nuts.

It turned out they were hurt, the gal riding behind had passed out and that caused the wreck.

Bill got an ambulance for them.

Later the man looked up the real estate office and thanked me, said that if we had not stopped, it could have been even longer, as we were not near a town, but Bill knew someone who did have a phone, not far away.

The man driving the motorcycle, was one of my customers in the coffee shop that I had worked at for 8 years and only quit to marry Bill.

That is how small a world is.

I've read that a lot. In other survival situations, it seems the people that make it vs those that don't can't be determined ahead of time. Some unexpected folk find the inner strength and champion it out. And others that seem strong and able just collapse. Personally, I think an attitude of flexibility and acceptance, live you've been talking about, is probably a big key.
