Thank you! Yes, I have a Home Depot about 12 miles away. I will look for them next time they go. I wasn’t sure what type of grade I needed for food, so your answer-the HDPE#2 helps me a lot. What do you store in the buckets? Like, sugar, flour, or grain or what?

LOL - Yep... All those, have one whole bucket of dried fruit - raisins, craisins, papaya, pineapple, peaches.
Another is all pasta - several with whole grains - Garden seeds - Salt - all the different dry ingredients we use. Baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, sesame seeds, etc. in another. Wife just decided she wanted to make up a couple - laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, etc. and another one with all kinds of first aid items. Hydrogen Peroxide, Alcohol, bandages, extra thermometer,Advil, Aspirin, Vitamins, eye wash, etc. etc.

One thing you need to know though... we don’t store then throw away upon expiration dates... We use everything we store, and the rotation comes from use, so we are constantly opening and closing them as we replenish our using or counter supplies (whatever you want to call it).

That way, we are not ever going to have to ‘transition’ to survival foods..... Actually, we eat a more balanced, more nutritious menu of items this way than when we shopped a week at a time years ago.
