We could use a couple of rain barrels about now. We have had so much rain the past week, the ground is soaked. I’m worried about the asparagus we planted 2 weekends ago. I don’t want it to rot. I keep thinking maybe I should go down there and pull them all out of the ground and replant them later.

Ouch!

Asparagus does develop crown and root rot if too wet. It really prefers light, well drained soil.

Problem now is that after 2 weeks, it may be rooting and sprouting some already. Digging it up now might do more damage than good.

If soil is sandy and wet spell doesn’t last too long, it could be OK though...
