>>>The last that I heard, they had declared that a Wetland!!!!<<<
LOL They don’t know the difference between a wetland and a mirage!

You just exposed their secret, they are seeing mirages.
When we lived in Wellton, we mirages EVERY morning and often saw the Florida swamps and so much more too.
We once followed a train for miles, saw it curve on the bends and slow as it climbed......except there was no train, no tracks and it was a mirage.
We were on I-8 freeway, only about 7 miles from home when I looked out the car window and saw it.
One Christmas morning, I got up and as usual checked the mirage, as I put coffee on, then happened to look out another window and God was putting hills and mountains all over my flat land.
It was something to see, like quicksilver almost as they formed and then once it was finished, you would swear that you were looking at the real thing.
It was the closest that I had ever been to one, less than 50 foot from the mobile.
There is one treasure story, that can only be found, by looking for the sailing ship, from a certain wash, on a certain day, within a 3 day period, you will see a mirage of a sailing ship, and when you go to the wash it is in, you will find gold on the ground there.
An old man did that for years, never took out more than he needed to live until next year and the location died with him.
Gold nuggets, washed free by the floods.
The man lived all his life in a tiny [then] town of Jacumba and he paid for it all with gold nuggets.
