Only good thing about that for me is that there are NO National Parks in my whole state...
You know, I melted lead, cast soldiers, played with them, painted with lead paint - It was a standard for boat bottoms as well as house and barn paint. I also played and made switches using mercury... Yep pure mercury... poured it in my hands - rolled it around - neat fun stuff. I have sprayed clouds of DDT with no ‘protection’ - as well as 2-4D and 2-4-5T (the Agent Orange stuff) had it all over me.
Just think... If I hadn’t done all those things, I would have been way beyond Einstein...
The lack of common sense among bureaucrats is shocking...
Even basic things totally elude their grasp...
I once embarrassed some EPA big-wigs who were demanding that a company install 12 test wells because they used small amounts of pure sulfur which sometimes got on the ground. I openly laughed in their faces - told them that they were the funniest example of stupidity I had seen in many years... When I told them that out West where they have alkaline soil, they spread hundreds of thousands of tons of sulfur every year - to neutralize the soil... I then told them that if they had an ounce of common sense, they would get a bag of agricultural lime and spread it on the ground and POOF the acidity they were panicking about would totally vanish. Would you believe they had to call chemists in their headquarters to have them tell them if that would work...
It does - - It did...
Geeesh - Fortunately it wasn’t my company, nor my land, nor my money they were messing with... But it really galled them that this passerby farm boy made them look bad in front of a whole crowd of people who had gathered to see what the big deal was...
