I know more than I want or need to know about your castrator-ditto about “pulling calves.” Early on in my married life, I answered the plea,”can you give me a hand” to find hubby assisting a cow that was birthing. My response was to high-tail it into the house where I stayed until that procedure was over.

LOL - I got to know the pulling calves pretty well...
The part I didn’t like was a vet who was a friend and who wanted to get me to be a vet too used to call on me (because of my long arms) when he had a still born that had to be taken out in pieces... Hated that job but those citified owners would never get their hands that dirty...

In my ute on the milk farm I probably delivered well over 3 thousand calves. We milked 600 and had another 300 in heifers. steers etc. Believe it or not you can get used to it.
