“I sit here knowing that I need to eat and can’t think of anything I want, so end up with cheese and crackers.”

Me too, granny. That’s my favorite standby lunch or snack. I often look around to decide what to eat and nothing excites me, so go for cheese and crackers. I don’t really enjoy cooking and when I do, I like to keep it simple. My boys get bored with my selections, so I guess I need to try some new stuff. Hubby eats anything, so no problem there.

Check out posts 1825 to 35, from my note, it appears they might be the inexpensive and easy recipes that I posted couple days ago, a couple really long/many recipe posts.

I over do the cheese and cracker, and prefer to have homemade break with it, but haven’t felt up to making it.

If you want something to perk it up, get a jar of the Mission Brand, Sliced Nacho Jalapeno Peppers.

For some reason, in the past I bought them and tried them out and almost ate the whole jar in a week, had good bread and even the juice was good on the bread.

I asked Scott for more and he says he can’t find them.

So who knows how long they have been on the shelf here, they are sweet and hot, but not gasping hot and with cheese, that is ‘good’.

And the peppers are good for you.

I have learned many things by helping someone else.

When I wanted to grow Orchids in the 1950’s there were only a couple books and lots of secrets with them, we did have a large Orchid Society and I kept asking questions, then someone said “come and help me this Saturday and I will show you”....I did and the word got out that I was a hard worker and they paid me in the bulbs of their plants and in a few years I had 3 greenhouses full of wonderful Orchids.

It also led to a job as the grower for an Orchid Nursery and Flower Shop, and I volunteered in the flower shop, went on to the college and could write Florist on my resume.

I was assistant show chairman, and when we moved, was the Vice President of the San Diego Orchid Society.

It wasn’t like a ladies flower club, it was so large and had important people in it, it was nothing for me to pick up a famous grower from England and take him to dinner, before he was to be our speaker for the evening.

LOL, I was never impressed with famous names, but I am so impressed with their secrets and knowledge of Orchids, both the history and growing of them.

No, I do not have any today, but once upon a time I did.

LOL, round about way to say it is a good idea to volunteer.

There are many storage food recipes in thread one, check around the 400 to 600 posts area and I will try to get more, if I ever quit clicking on “one more “ to see what it says and leaving too many open in the tabs.
