Which reminds me - I got a call from one of those Texas Gals just before Christmas - Hadn’t heard from her in 45 years. One of those Big D girls - we had been engaged when I was in the Army and she was going to NTWU up in Denton.
Reason I mentioned that is because your neighbor (W) had appointed her to chair the State Nurse Evaluation Board.
When she decided that we should cut off the engagement, her father had big tears in his eyes - He and I used to hunt quite a bit and fish. He was with Texas & Pacific Railroad - had his own caboose that was fully self-contained - Used to have them take it out to a siding in East Texas and we could fish and hunt.
He tried to get me interested in his other daughter, but she was wilder than a march hare... I wasn’t having any part of that...
It was really nice to talk to her and we swapped family stuff. Gotta watch those Texas Girls - they are heart stealers...

Younger daughter takes part-time classes outta TWU up in Denton. It's a good school. Probably the dumbest thing I ever did in my life was to turn down a full scholarship from them in 1978. I had other things in mind then. ~sigh~
