Looks like I have some real high-class competition in the poetry department with the subject of love today; Kahlil Gibran, Anaïs Nin, Robert Louis Stevenson.

Oh, well. I wouldn't let being outclassed hold me back.

Oh, Love!

The question you asked a moment ago?
You wanted the meaning of?
We were speaking of the basic things,
About life and living ... Oh, Love!

Yes, Love makes life worth living,
No matter your circumstance,
How dreary the world is around you,
Yet Love makes you want to dance!

The questing swain or suitor,
May seem like a court’s lost fool,
But love gives him grandeur and dignity,
At least that’s the general rule.

And Love in the basest family,
Ennobles the mom and dad,
To Queen and King of the Castle,
And a Prince of a sturdy lad.

I’m glad you asked me this question,
I’ve been wishing to share the truth of,
That wonderful blessing you’ve brought to me,
And the life-long treasures ... Oh Love.

Love it, NNBob! My favorite lines are:

"The questing swain or suitor,
But love gives him grandeur and dignity,
At least that’s the general rule.

Isn't it the truth? A person 'In Love' just doesn't seem to be 'right', (upstairs).
In a sweet and tender way, of course!
