I haven’t been getting any errors, but FR has been REALLY SLOWWWWWWWWW all day (and I’m not having slowdowns at any other sites).
It’s taking almost a minute to load anything on here; ran a speakeasy through all hubs and averaged 15Megs download and 3.8M upload — the problem is in FR and its servers.
Walkup, pony express, carrier pigeon...
This seems to be specific to certain geographic areas, but I can't explain how its happening.
Two weeks ago I experienced a similar problem accessing a server in Chicago. They were experiencing no problems at all. It just affected certain eastern states.
Could secondaries be down? Perhaps some really bad rerouting? Not sure.
BTW just got back from work, and I could only get on by typing in my /perl/pings. Didn't know if that would work because I received a proxy error on that previously.
The home page http://www.freerepublic.com/home.htm seems to work fine, as do most of the links with the exception of course /tag/*/index
I'm having trouble making out whether that puts you 2 hours ahead of NY, or 2 hours behind.

No, but FR has been slow all day. I think it’s about to drop dead again.
So who gets to tell the Robinsons to cut the radio off? And no more 24/7
:-)
I got some errors yesterday and the site has been taking forever lately. Thought it was my computer. At least now I know I’m not the only one.
2 hours beside.
Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. ;-)
