Yeah, and when ‘Yellow’s mellow”....disgusting racial bias included in a “prayer”. Kind of ruined this “bipartisan”....”post racism’ moment for those of us who have “yellow” and “Red” friends and family—not to mention those of us who are white!
From NBC's Pete Williams The recitation of the presidential oath came in fits and starts.
. . . Chief Justice John Roberts, using no notes, flubbed his lines, and Obama knew it.
First, Obama jumped in before the "do solemnly swear" phrase, which seemed to throw the chief justice off his stride. Roberts rendered the next phrase as "that I will execute the office of President to the United States faithfully."
"That I will execute," Obama repeated, then paused like a school teacher prompting his student with a slight nod. Roberts took another shot at it: "The off ... faithfully the pres ... the office of President of the United States."
The oath then got more or less back on track after that. Close enough for government work.

ROBERTS: I, Barack Hussein Obama...
OBAMA: I, Barack...
ROBERTS: ... do solemnly swear...
OBAMA: I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear...

Who cares what the chief justice said. Why didn’t Obama memorize and state the oath correctly? He must have decided at some point not to memorize the oath.
Regardless, the first most memorable moment of Obama’s presidency is damaged, and no amount of editing and shilling by the media can fix his obvious stumbling.
It was a fumble, barely retrieved. It appeared that Obama had memorized it, but Roberts left out a word and injected it at the end of a sentence. Obama had already ran in ahead of him at the first, then the Roberts’ fumble with the word “faithfully”. If they didn’t rehearse, they should have. In any case, that is the least of our problems. I’m glad the blacks finally have “their” President, and hope it isn’t used solely to punish “Whitey”. “Whitey” has already paid, and paid, and paid, and paid - and still it is never enough.
It’s sounds like Obama threw Roberts off, therefore it was obama’s fault.
I could only stand to watch the swearing in and a minute or two of his hot air speech, but yes, he screwed up. Also,
because they were running late, a Mr. Joseph Biden of
Delaware was President from 12:00 to 12:05 EST. Does that make 0bama pres #45?
No teleprompter for this, so no wonder!
It was working fine for his speech a minute later. There
probably was no teleprompter script for the actual swearing in
Obama jumped in to fast before Roberts finished the first sentence, which I think threw them both off.
I think if you went back, you will see the definite distraction of "that's not right".
