very disappointed in Bo

I am too. He had possibilities, but he insists on marketing himself to a very tiny, almost non-existent niche. He's sort of a Willie Nelson knock-off without Nelson's talent. Plus the days of Nelson's peak are long, long gone, even in country music.

First night impressions:

-- Watching that young woman with all the tattoos, hideous lip stud, and ridiculous rainbow-colored hair, I thought, "what a tragedy." Underneath that mess, she's quite a beautiful girl with a pretty good voice, but I think she's thrown it all away by turning herself into a caricature of all that's wrong with our modern culture.

-- The new judge didn't add anything. Maybe she will over time.

-- Some funny moments. A lot of predictable moments. Too soon to tell about most of the talent. As usual, we won't get to see all of the best ones until Hollywood or later.

-- The blind guy (Scott ?) will be better when he can accompany himself on the piano. He's talented, but he's going to have to relax and do more than sad ballads. I hope he's good at uptempo stuff, too. I don't want to see him go far just because he's blind. Know what I mean?

-- The one dark-haired girl in the black-and-white circle patterned shirt was excellent.

-- The hunky blond guy with the wife and two kids has potential.
