I haven't watched the news, cable or local, in the last few months and I've discovered that people are still murdered, kidnapped and otherwise mistreated regardless of whether I know about it or not.

So, I'm content to watch the Andy Griffith Show or a good old movie on TCM or AMC instead.

That's exactly how I feel, Jonny. Life has enough challenges all on its own without taking in every sob story on the planet. I've been sick of politics for a long time, now. It's all such a phony kabuki dance, all stylized and predictable. The Democrats hate the Republicans. The Republicans hate the Democrats. The right and left wingnuts hate everybody. They all make the rules that the rest of us are forced to follow, while they do whatever they damn well please. Well I don't need to tune in.

I’m still pretty much on a news blackout, too. I did turn on Fox when the Israeli’s went into Gaza a few weeks ago and then yesterday when I accidentally saw T. Boone.

I did watch when our idiot gov was arrested, but that was joy inducing. LOL
