That was bad advice the judges originally gave him. There are beautiful Spanish-language songs that can give you goose-bumps even if you don’t know the words.

During the auditions he sang in Spanish and Paula promptly asked him to sing something in English. I think he needs to stay with English. Singing in English he will get the votes of those that speak Spanish as well as those that speak English, BUT, if he sings in Spanish, he will lose some of the English speaking votes. Some songs truly do lose something in the translation and you can't tell if they flub the lyrics if you don't understand them, and the judges don't always point it out. jmo

About Jorge..

Understandable since they are trying to find the American Idol, but I hope he doesn't lose his accent altogether. I had dismissed this guy because of the pink scarf and the crying, but he moved me tonight. I'm not going to vote for him but if he makes it I can't wait to hear him sing in Spanish. He may not get far on AI but he is very marketable in English and Spanish. We LOVE other language artists like Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Andrea Bocelli, Celtic Woman, etc. He'll have a great career if he mans up a little.
