Why he chooses to hide behind that bad comedy routine, I can't even begin to guess. It isn't going to win him the competition -- unless this year's audience is all composed of Obama voters.

This show has been on for 8 years and by now it's easy to figure out. It's not about the singing at this stage and was never about the singing for ole Norman. It's about the schtick. Someone's going to see him, and put him in a spot made for his character. Just watch. I will REMEMBER him, even though I don't like him.

AI is about the after effect which produces this forum and the hundreds like it, not to mention all the TV and radio. But you know this...

I like Norman Gentle, and here is why...I think what he is doing is MOCKING the fey, queer, effeminate stylings of most of the Idol Men this year and years’ past.

It’s like Rescue Me, it’s so over the top that I think it’s just subtle satire.

I’ll keep voting for him, and ‘cause I’m a traditionalist, I will never vote for a tattooed or pierced, freakish-looking singer, no matter how good a singer.

It’s American Idol, not American Freak Show!
