Supposedly Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis are mentors this week, so maybe they will sing that duet.

Former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood has confirmed that she will be returning to the show for a performance next week.

The country star, who was crowned the fourth season champion in 2005, will sing her track ‘I Told You So’ alongside Randy Travis during Grand Ole Opry week.

“I am so excited that two of my musical passions, American Idol, and the Grand Ole Opry, are joining together to create a really special week of music,” she told Access Hollywood.

“I am always thrilled to return to the Idol stage, and am so proud to be bringing with me one of my heroes, Randy Travis.

Travis, who originally recorded ‘I Told You So’ in 1988, will mentor the contestants, while Underwood will release a digitally-remastered version of the single to coincide with her appearance.

Previously, Underwood announced that her cover of Motley Crue’s ‘Home Sweet Home’ would be used as the farewell track on this year’s competition.
