His great-great-great etc. grandfather was Dr. Samuel Mudd, the doctor that treated John Wilkes Boothe's ankle after the Lincoln assasination.
His audition song is George Jones' "White Lightning". Parts of it actually sound kinda sorta good, but it stinks overall.
The gun comment doesn't live up to the hype. Simon thought his cellphone holster was a gun holster.
They all turn him down and as Mudd walks out he says "Be careful."
Paula gasps. "That's a threat!"
Mudd says "I was just saying be careful in whatever you do."
All the same, the judges better have someone else start their cars tonight.
