Yes, because if I had a chemical plant, I’d rig up the primary tank so you could control it over the internet — you never know when you have to do a major flush at dinnertime and will want to work from home.....
I got equipment hooked into the LAN so the German Equipment maker can monitor it...but, we gotta make the connection first!
