1983-85 he spent in New York, working first for Business International Corp. then for the NY Public Interest Research Group. From 85 to 88 were the "Community Organizer" years in Chicago. Summer 88 was the trip to Kenya. He entered Harvard Law in the Fall of 88 and graduated Spring 91.
Correction, although some sources say Jr went to Kenya in 1988 he actually went in 1987 after his brother David died.
